Outlaw Beer Mural at ESX Art

Location: ESX Art Yard, San Antonio, TX
Event: ESX Art Paint Jam 7
Medium: Spray paint & stencil on textured wall
Theme: The Spirit of the Outlaw

What makes an outlaw?

For this mural collaboration with Outlaw Beer during the ESX Art Paint Jam 7, Soup leaned into that question — pulling inspiration from rebellious figures, pop culture anti-heroes, and a quote from Nelson Mandela to bring the concept to life.

The mural was painted on a deeply textured wall (which added its own challenge), using spray paint and custom stencils. The work channels the gritty spirit of Clint Eastwood’s iconic characters while leaving room for viewers to reflect on their own favorite “outlaws” — whether that’s Johnny Ringo, Frank Abagnale, or the Sea Shepherds.

This piece wasn’t just about paint — it was about connection. Over the weekend, Soup reunited with old friends, met new ones, and shared beers and stories with fellow artists. Huge thanks to Mike and Maddie from Outlaw Beer for the opportunity, and to Christie Kaye and Wilson Photography for capturing it all.
